Bio

Micky Strachota graduated as part of Clark University’s first CYES Cohort in 2019. He is going on to get his M.Ed in secondary history at Boston College’s Donovan Urban Teaching Scholars Program. He grew up working on farms and hanging out with his four siblings in a rural town in Western Massachusetts. In high school he attended a performing arts charter school, where his love of theater grew. He sees the systemic oppression embedded in schools, but believes that classrooms can also be places where the status quo is challenged and youth agency realized. His favorite things are participatory action research, critical literacy, and the Red Sox.
